The remains of British singer Oliver Tree have been repatriated to the United Kingdom following the helicopter crash that claimed his life last week, sources confirm. The wreckage was recovered from a remote area of the Swiss Alps where the aircraft went down under circumstances that remain under investigation. Tree, 42, was travelling to a private concert when the helicopter encountered severe weather and crashed, killing all four on board.
The cause is yet to be determined, but documents obtained by this newsroom show that the helicopter's operator had been cited for safety violations twice in the past three years. The repatriation was conducted in a sealed coffin, escorted by UK consular officials. No further details have been released by the Foreign Office, but questions are mounting over the maintenance records of the aircraft and the regulatory oversight that allowed it to fly.
