A wave of Israeli air strikes on Gaza has claimed the life of an Al Jazeera cameraman and six other civilians, according to local medical sources. The cameraman, identified as 34-year-old Ali al-Attar, was killed while reporting near the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. His colleagues described him as a dedicated journalist who had been documenting the conflict for years.
The attack also destroyed several residential buildings and a medical clinic. The Israeli military said it was targeting Hamas infrastructure, but witnesses reported that the strikes hit a residential area. The deaths bring the total number of journalists killed in the conflict to 145, according to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.
The international community has condemned the violence, with UN officials calling for an immediate ceasefire. The latest assault comes as diplomatic efforts to secure a truce remain stalled.
