Australian authorities have seized more than 2.3 tonnes of cocaine with an estimated street value of A$760m (£400m) in a coordinated operation involving British intelligence. The drugs were discovered in a purpose-built underground bunker near a rural property in New South Wales.
Three British nationals are among five suspects arrested. The British Border Force provided intelligence that led to the raid. The shipment is believed to have originated in South America, with the drugs transported by sea via a network of freight vessels.
The bust underscores the growing sophistication of transnational drug syndicates and the importance of international cooperation in disrupting their operations.
