The singer Sabrina Carpenter was granted a temporary restraining order this evening after a man was found loitering on the grounds of her Los Angeles home. Law enforcement sources confirm the individual, identified as 34-year-old Mark Thompson, was apprehended by private security at approximately 8:30 PM local time. He was reportedly in possession of a knife and a notebook containing detailed plans of Carpenter's residence.
Carpenter, who was not at home during the incident, filed for an emergency protective order citing a pattern of harassment. The court granted the order until a full hearing on June 15th. Thompson is being held on $500,000 bail, charged with stalking and possession of a deadly weapon.
