A British search-and-rescue team has been commended for its role in extracting a woman from the debris of a collapsed building in Caracas, Venezuela. The operation, captured on video, shows the moment the woman was lifted from the rubble, alive, after being trapped for several hours. The incident occurred following a structural failure in a residential area of the capital.
The UK team, deployed as part of an international assistance programme, worked alongside local emergency services. Officials described the rescue as a testament to the professionalism and coordination of the multinational effort. The woman, whose identity has not been released, is receiving medical treatment.
The British government has offered further support to Venezuelan authorities as they assess the damage and continue search operations.
