The American musician Oliver Tree, known for his eccentric persona and genre-blending music, has died in a helicopter crash in southern England. The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon near the village of Lasham, Hampshire, as the aircraft was returning from a private concert. Tree, 30, was the sole passenger.
The pilot, a 45-year-old man, also died. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The Civil Aviation Authority has announced a review of tour flight protocols, citing concerns over the use of single-engine helicopters for long-distance artist travel.
Tree’s management confirmed he had been on a promotional tour for his upcoming album. The investigation is ongoing.
