Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man she claims has been stalking her for months, escalating fears for her safety. The singer, 25, filed the order in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, citing a series of alarming incidents that have left her “in constant fear.” In court documents, Carpenter described how the suspect, a 34-year-old man, allegedly appeared at her home, followed her to studio sessions, and sent dozens of threatening messages.
“I am terrified that this person will physically harm me or my family,” she wrote. The order, which lasts until a full hearing in March, bans the man from approaching within 100 metres of Carpenter, her vehicle, or her residence. Los Angeles police confirmed an investigation is underway but made no arrests.
The case highlights the growing issue of celebrity stalking, which has intensified in the age of social media. For Carpenter, a star who rose from Disney Channel to chart-topping hits, the ordeal is a grim reminder of the price of fame. Her lawyer said she is “relieved” the court has acted, but remains vigilant.
Fans have rallied behind her, flooding social media with messages of support. The hearing in March will determine whether the order becomes permanent.
