The Secret Service neutralised a suspect during a perimeter security breach at the White House this afternoon, according to an official statement. The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 PM local time when an individual attempted to scale the northern fence of the executive mansion. Agents on site responded immediately, discharging their service weapons and striking the suspect.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced the suspect dead at the scene. The identity of the individual has not yet been released, and an investigation into the motive is underway. The White House was placed on lockdown for approximately 90 minutes.
