A 16-year-old boy was shot and two buses were set ablaze in Manhattan late on Wednesday night, following the New York Knicks’ victory over the Miami Heat. The violence, centred near Madison Square Garden, prompted the British Foreign Office to issue a travel advisory for US cities, cautioning British nationals about the risk of civil unrest. The teenager was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the arson. The incident underscores growing concerns about public safety in major urban centres, a topic that has dominated recent diplomatic exchanges between London and Washington.
