The Supreme Court’s latest ruling on Haitian and Syrian immigrants has, predictably, sent a frisson of panic through the chanceries of Washington. The chattering classes will wring their hands over ‘humanitarian obligations’ and ‘diplomatic niceties’. But let us be honest: this is not about compassion.
This is about sovereignty, the one thing the globalist elites despise above all else. They prefer the grand, hollow gestures of the European Union, where borders are lines on a map that anyone with a dinghy may cross. We, by contrast, have decided that nationhood means something.
To the White House, this is an ‘affront’. To those of us who remember the fall of Rome, it is a lesson. The empire that forgets its borders forgets itself.
The Court has simply reminded Washington that we are not a province of their fading imperium. Let them huff. We have our own civilisation to defend.
