Washington DC: Donald Trump’s personal physician, Dr Sean Conley, has declared the former president to be in “excellent” health following a check-up earlier this week. The assessment, released in a brief memorandum, noted that Trump’s “cognitive abilities” and “physical stamina” are above average for a man of his age. However, a senior White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the decision to release the report was made by Trump’s political team rather than by medical staff.
Independent observers have questioned the timing and objectivity of the statement, noting that the physician’s practice is closely tied to Trump’s business interests. Dr Conley did not respond to requests for further details, and the report omitted routine data such as blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Critics argue that such omissions undermine the document’s credibility.
The controversy comes as Trump eyes a potential 2024 presidential run, with his campaign seeking to project vigour and decisiveness.
