Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued an open letter to Vladimir Putin demanding face-to-face negotiations, a move that signals a shift in Ukraine’s diplomatic strategy. The letter, published this morning by the Ukrainian presidential office, calls for an immediate summit to discuss de-escalation and territorial integrity.
Downing Street has responded swiftly, with a spokesperson stating that Britain “stands unequivocally with Ukraine’s sovereignty and right to self-defence.” The Prime Minister is expected to discuss the matter with European allies later today. Analysts suggest the letter seeks to pressure Moscow into dialogue while shoring up Western support.
No date or venue for the proposed talks has been set.
